The Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) and Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) signed an agreement on May 30 this year to facilitate each other by sharing community-based services and information in mutual areas of expertise for the larger well-being of the BISP beneficiaries.
A delegation led by Secretary General PRCS Brigadier (retired) Ghulam Muhammad Awan called on Chairperson BISP Marvi Memon at the BISP Headquarters.
Memon said the BISP beneficiaries were really close to their hearts, and they wanted this new partnership to honor the commitment of service delivery to the poorest beneficiaries.
“This agreement would definitely ensure a broader foundation to facilitate and to help the BISP beneficiaries,” she said.
Secretary BISP Omar Hamid Khan briefed the delegation about other programs initiated by them in the field of social protection and health facilities to the neglected segment of the society.
Ghulam Muhammad Awan extended his full support for this noble cause.
“We are glad to partner with the BISP having such a comprehensive database of beneficiaries spread across Pakistan,” he said.
He said the sharing of data will enable both the organizations to elevate the status of marginalized and under-privileged sections of the society.
Benazir Income Support Program is dedicated to fighting poverty by employing multiple social protection instruments designed to bring a sustainable positive change in the lives of persistently excluded and deprived families.
