Community Based Risk Education



Pakistan Red Crescent (PRC), under the auspicious of the International Committee of the Red Cross/ Crescent (ICRC), has been pioneering the preventive measures of risk reduction of the negative impacts of Landmines/UXO/ERWs and IEDs in high risk areas of Pakistan, through a systematic approach providing of Community Based Risk Education and Victims’ Assistance.

Currently, this program is running in the most affected areas in Pakistan; namely

Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK)

  • Muzaffarabad
  • Neelum
  • Havali
  • Poonch
  • Kotli
  • Bhimber

 Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA)

  • Mohmand Agency
  • Bajaur Agency
  • Khyber Agency
  • Khurrum Agency

 Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK)

  • Hangu
  • D.I Khan
  • Dir (Lower)
  • Swat

There is an overwhelming need for risk education RE in high risk areas and in this regard PRC, is looking towards expending this program based on needs identified to other provinces. The program also carters to the victims of the explosive ordinance through systematic identification of victims and their referral to in-country rehabilitation programs as well.
