‘Youth for Climate Action” conference concluded in Gilgit
Pakistan Red Crescent, with the support of the German Red Cross (Deutsches Rotes Kreuz) and BMZ, co-hosted a ‘Climate Baithak 4 Youth’ event with GIZ and Fridays for Future Pakistan.
The event, which aimed to bring together the youth from all districts of GB to discuss the climate challenges they face, and the role the youth can play in #advocacy, adaptation, and mitigation, was graced by H.E Alfred Grannas, Ambassador of Germany to #Pakistan, as well as senior colleagues from #BMZ and KfW.
Chairman PRCS, Brig (Retd) Saleem Mehmood welcomed the participants on behalf of #PRCS and emphasized that climate change advocacy is the need of the hour. Ambassador Grannas appreciated the organizer’s efforts and thanked the participants for traveling from remote areas to attend the workshop.
During the workshop, participants shared initiatives that were being undertaken at the community level such as glacier grafting, ice stupas etc to adapt to uncertain water availability due to Climate Change.
