Situation Update 7 PRCS Intensifies Humanitarian Response for Displaced Families in Tirah and Kurram
10 March, 2026
Situation Update – PRCS Response in Bajaur / Tirah–Kurram Response
In January 2026, rising security concerns and internal conflict in Tirah Valley (Khyber) and Kurram districts forced many families to abandon their homes in search of safety. Displaced families temporarily relocated to safer areas such as Bara and Peshawar, residing with relatives, in rented housing, or in informal settlements.
This sudden displacement created urgent humanitarian needs, including access to food, healthcare, clean water, and hygiene support.
In response, Pakistan Red Crescent Society, supported by Movement partners including the Norwegian Red Cross, Turkish Red Crescent, International Committee of the Red Cross, and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, activated emergency response mechanisms to provide comprehensive humanitarian assistance to vulnerable communities in Tirah and Kurram.
