Youth Engagement Program for Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

Introduction

The Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) is deeply committed to contributing to the achievement of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Our dedicated ‘Youth Engagement Program for Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals’ empowers young individuals from diverse backgrounds to become catalysts for positive change. This transformative initiative is not just a program; it’s a movement that shapes leaders of tomorrow and fosters a more equitable and resilient Pakistan.

Our Objectives

Our program’s primary objectives are to empower and equip young individuals, irrespective of their gender or background, to effectively address the challenges they face daily. We focus on four key SDGs:

Ensuring Gender Equality & Empowering Women and Girls

We strive to eliminate gender disparities and promote gender equality by nurturing leadership qualities in both young men and women.

Reducing
Inequalities

We are committed to reducing disparities among different groups within our society and providing equal opportunities to all the youth of Pakistan.

Promoting
Climate Action

We educate our youth about climate change and encourage them to take action towards a sustainable, eco-friendly future.

Advocating for Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions

We aim to cultivate responsible citizens who contribute to building strong, just, and peaceful institutions.

Our Outreach

Our SDGs program is being rolled out nationally, directly benefiting 11,461 young individuals, with an additional 11,405 benefiting indirectly. We encompass a wide range of modules that cover education on climate change, disaster preparedness, first aid, social cohesion, entrepreneurship, motivational upliftment, youth engagement strategies, and networking. Our inclusive approach extends to the transgender community, providing them with training in life-saving skills and entrepreneurship to reshape societal perceptions.
