Chairman PRCS Sardar Shahid Ahmed Laghari Commends Turkish Red Crescent Society’s Educational Initiative for Arakan Children

Karachi – Chairman Pakistan Red Crescent Society Sardar Shahid Ahmed Laghari, was a distinguished guest at the Star Schools Supplies distribution event, expressed heartfelt appreciation for the Turkish Red Crescent Society’s dedication to the education of 150 immigrant children from Arakan. The event took place at the Turkish Consulate General in Karachi.

Hosted under the umbrella of the “Children from Arakan Education Support Activity,” the initiative supports the education of immigrant children residing in Orangi and Korangi regions of Karachi. Chairman Laghari, along with esteemed guests including His Excellency Consul General of Turkey in Karachi, Mr. Cemal Sangu, Secretary General PRCs Muhammad Abaidullah Khan, Mr. Ibrahim Carlos, Türk Kızılay Head of Delegation to Pakistan Fajer Rabia Pasha, Coordinator Halil, Ibrahim Başaran of TIKA Karachi, and Director Pakistan Alliance for Girls Education (PAGE) Mrs. T.C. Karaçi Başkonsolosluğu – Turkish Consulate General in Karachi, graced the occasion.

During his address, Chairman Laghari emphasized the enduring and unbreakable bond between Pakistan and Turkey, rooted in history and shared values. He highlighted the event as a symbol of the shared commitment of both nations to making a positive impact on the lives of those in need.

“Today’s event is not just about distributing school supplies; it’s a testament to the unbreakable partnership between Pakistan and Turkey. This collaboration goes beyond borders and signifies our joint commitment to peace, stability, and progress,” said Chairman Laghari.

Acknowledging the unwavering support of the Turkish Red Crescent, Laghari expressed gratitude for their consistent efforts in disaster relief, capacity building, and crisis assistance. Their steadfast partnership strengthens communities, with 27 schools and 147 scholarships benefiting Pakistani students.

The occasion also witnessed Chairman Laghari presenting a shield to His Excellency Consul General of Turkey in Karachi, Mr. Cemal Sangu, in recognition of his outstanding humanitarian efforts. This gesture symbolizes the collaborative spirit between PRCS and the Turkish Red Crescent Society, reinforcing their commitment to building a brighter future for communities in need.

In a one-on-one meeting with Mr. Cemal Sangu, Chairman Laghari expressed gratitude for the enduring support of the Turkish Red Crescent, extending from

disaster relief to impactful education initiatives. Mr. Sangu commended PRCS’s humanitarian interventions, pledging continued collaboration and support.

The Star Schools Supplies distribution event signifies a milestone in the longstanding partnership between Pakistan and Turkey, demonstrating the power of collaboration in creating positive change for vulnerable communities.

    It is politely requested. A hospital has been established here in Bakakhel camp for many years for the victims. It is still under the supervision of Pakistan Red Crescent. They give free medicines to people and also run an ambulance service. But unfortunately, this hospital has been ordered to close after September. So we request you not to close this hospital. Rather, keep it up for another two years.
