Pakistan Red Crescent Society Honors Immunization Teams for Exemplary ServiceĀ 

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) hosted a ceremony in the month of February 2024 to pay tribute to the dedicated teams and individuals working tirelessly in the field of Routine Immunization across the nation. Over 200 members including provincial health coordinators, health mobilizers, vaccinators, and volunteers from PRCS provincial headquarters and district branches gathered at the National Headquarters for this momentous occasion. The event was graced by Honorable Chairman PRCS Sardar Shahid Ahmed Laghari, Secretary General Muhammad Abaidullah Khan, PRCS staff, and the Head of Health Program from IFRC, among other distinguished guests. 

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman PRCS, Sardar Shahid Ahmed Laghari, lauded the steadfast commitment and invaluable contributions of the health teams and vaccinators who have been actively involved in the Routine Immunization Program since 2018. He expressed profound gratitude, stating, “You all have made tireless efforts, reaching areas where no one else could reach. Your dedication in regions such as Bannu, Merged Areas, Kill Abdullah, and Chaman serves as a remarkable example, evident in the recognition we receive from stakeholders.” 

Chairman Laghari reiterated PRCS’s commitment to expanding the outreach of the immunization program, aiming to reach every corner of the country, including Sindh and Balochistan. Emphasizing the importance of collaboration with the government, he pledged to complement efforts in the complete eradication of polio. 

In a historic gesture, Chairman Laghari extended an open invitation to all immunization teams, hailing them as heroes, to the National Headquarters, emphasizing PRCS’s unwavering support. He directed PRCS and IFRC to provide optimal support to field teams through the provision of ambulances and logistics, aiming to facilitate their mobility. Additionally, he stressed the strengthening of district branches and the solarization of all branches to enhance operational efficiency.
